Dhanvanthari Institute of Management sciences established in the year 2009 under Dhanvanthari Educational Society founded by well known Doctors of Kothagudem town viz., Dr. C. Ramakrishna garu, Dr. Arakala Bhaskar garu and Dr. Mohan Babu garu in Sujathangar, Kothagudem in Telangana State with an intension of providing Management education to the Rural Area people and to meet the needs of the Business Industry in this area, it is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Kakatiya University, Warangal with an intake of 120 students.
The college is located in Industrial Area of Bhadradri Kothagudem District. This District is having major industries like “The Singareni Collieries company Ltd ( SCCL), jointly owned by State and Central Governments has its head quarters in Kothagudem. Kothagudem Thermal power Station which is located in Palvoncha is one of the coal based power plants of Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited      ( TSGENCO). Nava Bharat ventures Limited and Sponge Iron India Ltd. are the two major iron industries located 20 kms away from this college. ITC Paper boards (PSPD) is located at Sarapaka near Bhadrachalam. Bhadrachalam a key town of pilgrimage importance is located in this District.
The temple town of Bhadrachalam is situated on the bank of Godavari river. The town shares its historical significance with Ramayana era.Â
